Workplace Fairness Act – Insights and Practices for Compliance

Schedule:

A new Workplace Fairness Act covering the scope of protections against discrimination and employers’ obligations was passed on 8 Jan 2025 and a second bill, Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution), to amend the Act to provide for mediation of workplace fairness disputes was passed on 4 Nov 2025. MOM aims for the Act to take effect in end-2027 and employers (senior management eg CEO/MD/GM, HR, managers, supervisors and executives) are expected to prepare and familiarize with the obligations and the framework for compliance.

This workshop is specially designed to provide a good understanding during pre-employment, in-employment and end-employment (including post-employment) of the protections against workplace discrimination, the prohibition to make adverse employment and management decisions based on a set of protected characteristics, resolving disputes amicably, and the need to establish grievance handling processes to facilitate dispute resolution.

SELF-CARE : USE M.I.N.D. METHODS TO KEEP PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY FIT

Effective self-care involves adopting key strategies that address various aspects of well-being. Understanding yourself and prioritizing your time to keep physically and mentally fit is fundamental for overall health and holistic well-being.

Developing a personalized self-care plan is essential for addressing physical, emotional, and social needs. Embracing diverse self-care practices across different categories is key to ensuring a comprehensive approach to well-being. 

This workshop helps participants to explore the M.I.N.D. methods of developing resilience and derive a self-care plan to keep physically and mentally fit.

NURTURE POSITIVENESS IN PARENTING

Nurturing positiveness in parenting is a transformative approach that goes beyond traditional child-rearing methods. Positive parenting involves cultivating a supportive and warm environment for children, proactive teaching, inductive discipline, and positive involvement. 

Research indicates that positive parenting contributes to various aspects of a child’s well-being, including academic success, social-emotional development, and behavioral outcomes. Studies even suggest that it plays a crucial role in protecting children from the adverse effects of stress, promoting healthy brain development, and fostering resilience.

This workshop helps participants to explore 3 key parenting techniques of developing resilience and guide children towards positive behavior.
